John Wright specializes in events where clients require a high volume, fast coverage workflow
John has worked the last 15 years as an IT consultant (now very much part time). He originally qualified as a Micro Electronic Design Engineer. John has worked for GEC designing Automatic Test Equipment as well 10 years with Reuters and Associated Press designing information systems for trading rooms, holding senior management positions with both. John designed and developed the communications system for the major utilities to use to status report at cabinet level for Y2k roll-over.
As an example he has supplied services and designed systems for clients who typically deal with sports celebrities, as well as covering over 200 football matches and photographing many other events. Celebrities covered include Ricky Hatton, Frank Bruno, Joe Calzaghe, the 1966 World Cup Team and Sir Henry Cooper amongst others. Covering celebrity events has the added pressure that time is money and it is expected that the work flow and system performance will be very efficient and very reliable. John has a good knowledge of lighting skills (theory and practical) eg. wrap around in high key, as well as product photography which requires very good light control to do well.
A recent project saw John develop and implement a multi photographer solution for a large Santa's Grotto where all images need to be previewed and printed without minimal operator input but also allowing on-site print packages to be produced with by operators with minimal training.
