Event Photographer Training

Many have a false impression that event photography is at the lower end of photographic skills but nothing could be further from the truth. If anything a good event photographer is multi-skilled having to be a good photographer, a salesman and an IT expert.

The best training an event photographer can get is from another event photographer who is experienced in the area that they are interested in learning about. It might be the finer points of posing or lighting for a social function, or how to manage a group of photographers shooting a multiple activity sporting event.

Training can be arranged to be carried out on a one to one basis and up to large group level, whatever is the most appropriate for your needs. What is important to us is that we can provide the best trainer for you.

We will not make hollow promises of easy money or guaranteed success because we believe it is possible to achieve both. You must have the required skills and the correct equipment. This needs to be backed up by good knowledge, all carried out in a professional manner.

Mentoring

Do you require ongoing advice? Often it is better to build a relationship with a mentor who can take an objective opinion of you and your business and monitor your progress. You will get specific advice tailored to your needs.

Lighting

Traditionally lighting for event photography has been flat to allow coverage of whatever size group has to be photographed. For many events this is still might be the case but it does not have to be so. Do you want to learn how to add drama and excitement into lighting? Are you still struggling with getting your Hi-Key correct? Our experts can help.

Workflow

There are many pieces of software on the market but they need to used with the correct hardware to get the best results. Workflow is also about matching the system to the event, because what works at an equestrian event may not work at a dog agility show. Just as equally what works at a school prom will not work at a university graduation ball.

Business

There are two major aspects to the business, getting the work and how to sell when on location, but never forget selling after the event.

Posing

There poses that sell and sell and others that fail so how do you know what to use? As with all photography it is the poses that make the clients look best. Simple changes can make dramatic changes in your success rate.

We look forward to helping you improve your business.
